About Carlos

I’m a multidisciplinary director and graphic designer with expertise covering strategy, design, branding, and user experience (UX). My projects have included design for brand identity systems, advertising, publications, websites, food packaging, corporate collateral, and social media. I’ve worked with clients big and small in the public and private sectors.

I began my design career at Dean Design & Marketing Group and Invictus and worked as a senior graphic designer at InsuranceNewsNet.com before landing at advertising agency PPO&S as an associate creative director. PPO&S is now part of Color & Culture, a multicultural marketing and ad agency dedicated to helping organizations move beyond performative allyship and authentically connect with and serve diverse audiences. I studied graphic design at Messiah University, receiving my BA in Studio Art in 2006.

Design is more than a vocation for me. It’s a calling, or rather, a call to action to make my community and the world a better place; using my expertise and skills to inject goodness wherever possible. The late Milton Glaser—one of the most celebrated graphic designers of our time and someone I’ve admired for years—said he applied the “do no harm” principle in his work. This may be too simplistic of a concept, but it’s an ethic that I hold to in my work as well: to never get involved in a project that will negatively impact people and the environment.
